Lovely city. Impressive main square and very impressive cathedral; fairly compact. Old town great: loads of eateries - specially down Franco St but many elsewhere. Finding tourist information office needs a little determination but very helpful when you succeed. Many good tours reasonably priced -especially Ria Basis and also Finisterre tour. You can easily get to La Coruña by train on your own but turn up a bit early because there may be a few security checks. Not an expensive place for a major tourist destination.

Santiago de Compostela is a nice place to visit but way more crowded than I anticipated. Suggest pre booking tickets to things you want to see. The cathedral and museum was wonderful. Also, suggest reviewing restaurant options and make reservations early for popular places. And pre-arrange a taxi two days prior to airport departure. If arriving by bus also pre-arrange a taxi.

The staff was beyond helpful and friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Everything was impeccably clean and well maintained. The space was good for the two of us - room to spread out. The location was excellent - we were able to walk to everything. We did have a car and there was a parking garage just a few minutes away. All very convenient.
